An effective school is one where teachers and parents work together for the benefit of the students. Watsonia North enjoys a high level of parental involvement through School Council and its Sub-Committees, Fundraising Committee, assistance in classroom and Specialist Programs, Canteen, assistance in the Library, Uniform sales, Excursions, Working Bees and Curriculum Program Evaluation.

Communication with parents is given a high priority. Parents receive a classroom information letter, written reports on student progress, Learning Improvement Plans and have access to formal and informal parent/teacher meetings throughout the year. Parents are invited to curriculum information sessions which can include Family Maths and Understanding Reading and Writing Program. A comprehensive weekly Newsletter is also distributed. A note is also sent home to each school family early in the year inviting parents to become involved in one or more aspects of school life.

All children will benefit from parental involvement in school activities.
